  I have ordered this before and was disappointed from the moment I opened it. Missing the smell of brandy that it once had and with a bland crumbly texture. Plentiful fruit and nuts but missing the correct texture that it had in the past . Order arrived quickly but was not the product that it once was.

  I ordered a 3# Brandy fruitcake from Our Lady of Guadalupe Trappist Monastery to have for Christmas. It was an excellent fruitcake. Very moist and full of pecans and candied fruit. I would highly recommend their fruitcakes.

  Extremely dry, hard and just tasted over baked. There was no taste, smell or essence of brandy at all. Really disappointed. It was loaded with fruit and nuts though.

  This is gift worthy and tastes great. If you know someone who loves dark fruitcakes you need to try this. You will not be disappointed. This 3 lb Brandy Fruitcake is the best. Slice after slice is soooo delicious. A great evening dessert. Great treat to offer to others. If you are a fruitcake lover this is one to give a try.

  Even though this is expensive, this is fantastic fruitcake. I love the pineapple, cherries, raisins and nuts. Great flavor. Look forward to it each year. Great gift for fruitcake lovers. I prefer the dark. cake to a light one.

  We have been ordering from monastery for many years with great results, all types of their products but this year the brandy fruitcake was a bit dry and possibly overdone. First slip up, next year will hopefully be back to great

  Fruitcake is heavy with fruit and nuts in a tasty batter with brandy in it. Very moist. Dense and packed with fruit and nuts. I've been getting it for a few years now. Absolutely on my must get list every Christmas season. I'll be back again next year. Great tradition. Happy Holidays.

  This is one of the best fruitcakes I've ever tasted! The other one is the rum fruitcake! I've been purchasing the rum fruitcake for years around the holidays and Easter! Now that I've also tasted the brandy fruitcake, I hope to purchase both every year! Both fruitcakes are the best!

  The only thing that would make this fruitcake better would be if it were in a full circle like Mom's was. Otherwise, it is moist, not overly fruity, and able to be enjoyed for weeks without compromising flavor or freshness when stored properly. Thank you.

  I was introduced to the monastery as a child, when we toured the facility as a grade school field trip. I returned to them as an adult, recalling the fruitcake production from my childhood. I am so glad I did as they are delicious; dense, rich and flavorful - their provenance comes through in each bite. These are gifts to our family and friends during special occasions. Yum!

  This large, dense cake is loaded with fruit and nuts. I especially enjoyed the big cherries. We buy a few fruit cakes a year and this one was one of my favorites. The customer service representative was very pleasant and professional.

  I just received this "fruitcake." I don't think you can call it "cake." It is loaded with nuts, fruit, and a little bit of batter. It is also absolutely amazing. I don't know what holds this thing together, but it is Uber dense(!), moist, and a total delight. I never had it before, ordered it about 10 days ago and it was delivered today. I just had two thick slices. I'm a fruitcake aficionado and I rate this WOW.

  I like fruitcake. It is a family tradition. I like dark fruitcake, for that is the British tradition. This cake was great dark fruitcake, with the right amount of brandy, and a delicious melt-in-your mouth taste. It is dangerous, however, for one may lose one's self-control when one starts eating it.

This one passed all tests, and given that I have an English taste and well over a century of known fruitcake bakers in the family, my tests are severe ones.   Bought it for myself because I love fruitcake but no one ever gives me any. I am trying to take it in small servings since I shouldn't have it in the first place (due to type 2 diabetes). I dole it out to myself and struggle not to pig out, although I'd love to. A BIT more brandy in it wouldn't be amiss, however. I'll be buying it again, maybe even this year.

  Honestly, all the fruitcakes on the site are great. We've gone through all of them with this being the most recent. It is very dark with great fruit and nuts. Unique in that you can cut this paper thin and it holds together. You can hold the slice to light and it's like stained glass with the fruit as windows. Highly recommend.

  this time I bought the 3 pound fruitcake because I was so thrilled with my previous years 1 pound cake. This is what a fruitcake should be like. I try to convert all of those fruitcake haters by telling them they just have not had a really good fruitcake, then I tell them about yours. Thank you for never letting me down. A little pricey though, but it hasn't stopped me yet!
