Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration: Clyde, Missouri

The Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in Clyde, Missouri were founded by Mother Mary Anselma Felber, who came in 1874 with a small group of sisters from Maria Rickenbach in the Swiss Alps. The sisters worked as teachers, farmers, makers of liturgical vestments and altar breads, operated a printery, and established a correspondence department.

They are called to a ministry of prayer, with a tradition of unceasing adoration of Christ in the Eucharist. As Benedictines they live under a Rule and a prioress. They strive to witness to God's presence in the world through their community life and by offering a welcoming space for silence, prayer, and spiritual hospitality in a shared environment of monastic peace.

Today they continue to support ourselves through altar bread work, soap making, and correspondence. They persevere in cultivating the earth with landscapes and vegetable and flower gardens. And they carry on the labor of love through the monastic life - in service to one another and the Church.

Luxurious

I order these when I want to spoil myself. The fragrance is amazing. I keep them in my linen closet until needed and all of my linens smell terrific. Long lasting, creamy soap. A real luxury.

Amazing Scents

Love the scents! The soaps do have a nice lather. The scents remind me of Christmas and the holidays. They are worth the price! Highly recommend!

Gifts of the Magi

These soaps are expensive, but you'd be wise to buy them for yourself or for others. As an added perk, each bar contains a few drops of holy water.
A marvelous gift with utterly heavenly scents! In fact, I keep the extra bars on the mantlepiece and another on the windowsill of a small bathroom to simply enjoy the fragrance for a week or so before using them! Then, the rich, creamy lather makes these soaps a true pleasure to enjoy.
