Franciscan Peacemakers soy candles are:

·       Clean Burning: They do not contain toxins, carcinogens or pollutants which are likely to trigger allergies. They are not made with petroleum-based paraffin which release petrol-carbon soot.

·       Long Lasting: They burn cooler and generally last 30-50% longer than paraffin candles.

·       Biodegradable & Water Soluble: They are naturally biodegradable which makes accidental spills easier to clean.

·       Lead-Free & Zinc-Free: They utilize wicks made of either cotton, paper or hemp.

·       Good for Farmers: They are made from soy -- a natural, renewable resource grown here in the USA.

They connect women survivors of sexual exploitation to safe housing, meaningful work and a healing network of support. Inspired by the model of Thistle Farms, Franciscan Peacemakers opened Clare Community in 2014 to provide a more concrete, holistic and long-term option for women seeking a pathway to healing. Clare Community is a 2-year, spiritually-based program which provides rent-free housing while women attend full-time to their recovery and healing. 

Also inspired by Thistle Farm, Franciscan Peacemakers started making Peace & All Good soap and body care products. Through the production and sale of all-natural, handmade products, employees learn skills in manufacturing, packaging, marketing, sales and administration. They also learn leadership skills and teamwork -- getting firsthand experience in building relationships of trust and care.
