Since the 10th century, families have painted eggs during Lent to share with friends, family, and the local priest. They use symbols and colors with profound meanings: the Resurrection, promise of eternal life, abundance, protection and affection.

A Beautiful Way to Extend a Tradition!

Our Orthodox Tradition is: At the end of the Paschal Liturgy, the Faithful come forward to Venerate a Resurrectional Form of the Cross, held by the Priest or Bishop...the Cleric gives a Colored Egg, also representative of the Resurrection (which is an entirely other story).
